  1. A sect is a small ideological group, usually 
  2. religious in nature, that may have moved away 
  3. from a main group, often claiming a monopoly 
  4. of access to truth or salvation. Sects are 
  5. usually highly exclusive. They demand strict 
  6. conformity, total commitment to their code of 
  7. behaviour, and complete personal involvement, 
  8. sometimes to the point of rejecting 
  9. mainstream society altogether in terms of 
  10. attachments, names, possessions, and family.
